The Casper Ghosts Professional Baseball club is a Pioneer League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. The team formerly known as the Butte Copperkings moved to Casper for the 2001 season and became known as the Casper Rockies. The team moved into a brand new ballpark, Mike Lansing Field, in 2002.  In 2008 the organization made another major change by renaming itself the Casper Ghosts. The new name and logo revitalized the franchise and the teams new Glow-in-the- dark caps, the first in professional baseball history,  became an overnight sensation.
